Data Collection and Performance Monitoring

Our Capture system is the basis for all of our transformational products. Capture enables data collection and care performance monitoring across care pathways. Built with significant input from clinical teams, NHS North East and the North of England Cardiovascular Network, Capture supports integrated single data entry and real-time performance monitoring.

Integrated solutions, for integrated patient-care

We're ITK accredited. Through our Interoperability Gateway service CaptureStroke Adapter and ITK V2 Adapter, we're very proud to have been awarded the UK's first ADT Host Client Application compliant Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) Version 2.0 accreditation.

The National Integration Centre and Assurance (NICA) Technology under the Department of Health Informatics Directorate award the ITK accreditation to products meeting a series of integration standards.

The certificate was awarded to Digital Spark Limited on 22nd March 2012 and represents our on-going commitment to delivering innovative solutions that are certified to conform to the latest standards for best practice.

Digital Spark Limited are the first supplier to successfully implement the ITK Version 2.0 accreditation using both the Microsoft .NET and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) frameworks for use on Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 platforms.

Connecting for Health (CFH) Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) Overview

The Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) is a framework that consists of a set of national standards and guidelines required to support seamless interoperability across the English NHS health space.

The strategy ITK have adopted is a Connect all approach, which aims to reduce the many complex interfaces that exist and standardise upon a single set of common interfaces, reducing barriers, ensuring consistency, establishing reuse and supporting flexibility and innovation.

The vision is clearly set out by connecting for health at the following link:

Our ITK Gateway and Adapters

As part of the ITK accreditation process, we have designed and implemented our new ITK V2 plug-and-play Gateway service that provides a clear separation between an application and ITK V2 services; therefore eliminating the direct dependencies between application(s) and messaging systems supporting ITK.

We offer full Synchronous and Asynchronous messaging with response and/or without response (one-way zero-byte) interaction patterns support as part of our ITK V2 Gateway service and have the ability via configuration to strategise an ITK message envelope, interaction patterns and services to offer a seamless platform for integration. Our existing CaptureStroke application uses a combination of our Capture (Stroke) Adapter and WCF ITK V2 Adapter loaded by the Gateway service and configured to expose the ITK service endpoints required to begin fast, secure and reliable ITK V2 communication.
